    3. Forwarded by the ListAdmin for: "Peggy Hake" <peghake@yhti.net> I have a friend who has been looking for the death date of her ancestor, John Hardin Rowden, for several years and no one has been able to help her out. I thought I would put this out on the Miller and Maries County list sites to see if anyone could help her. John Hardin Rowden was born c/1827 in Tennessee (one census gives his birthplace as Alabama). He married Sarah Rowden Lawson of Miller County sometime between 1846-1850. She was the widow of Andrew Lawson who died in 1846. Sarah was about 16 years older than John Hardin Rowden, but I believe she out-lived him. They appear in the Miller County census' of 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880. If anyone knows anything about John Hardin Rowden including his death date and where he may be buried, I would appreciate hearing from you.........thanks much in advance. peghake@yhti.net ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 3. Hi Melinda, Yes, there were two John E. Loves. The John Elbert Love, born 1844 married Cynthia A. Pinnell. Their portraits hang in the old Jail Museum in Vienna. They owned a store at Vichy, as well as most of the land where the present airport is near Vichy. They are buried at Hickory Grove cemetery, on the edge of the Airport land. He was son of John Love and Mary (Polly) Wassum. The second John Elbert Love was born 1840, married Permelia Jane Fritts (she was a Bradshaw widow when they married). They moved to Summerville, Shannon County, MO where they both died. He was son of Harvey and Martha (Sands) Love. Have quite a bit on their descendants if you need it. I don't know of Love's going to Greene and Hickory county, although there are many for whom I have no information. I do know that Harvey's sister, Virginia Ann, married Jacob Cole Stockton, and their family moved to Greene County MO where Virginia and Jacob are both buried. He died at Springfield, she at Rogersville in Webster County. 3. Maggie, I could not find a Fred Riddle that lived on the Sioux Resv in the 1900's. The Riddle's belong to the Eastern Band of Cherokee (Echota's) of NC, TN, AL and GA. A William Riddle (Indian Countryman) is found working as an interpreter at the Choctaw Trading House in Alabama in 1808. Others were caught up in the Trail of Tears. The Riddle's were used as interpreters so this might be a clue to your Fred. Carol

I am looking for a Fred Riddle that was a minister of some kind and was on the Souix Reservation in the Dakotas prob around the early 1900s. He was married to Ida or Ada Ingram and they had 3 sons that I know of Fred, Dave and Emit. Ida was my great Aunt, and except for knowing her name I have been unable to find anything else about her. Siblings of my grandfather Robert Calhoun: Tully, William R., Welly, Elizabeth, Angus Beatty, Sinie, Commadore P., Alice & Twin Sister. Did Maries County have a newpaper at that time, and did he ever make any headlines? Was Vienna the place where he was a judge?

    3. The message board for this county is set up so that any messages posted will be forwarded to this list. You will know that it is a message board posting because it will start with this line: "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list." Later in the message it will give you a URL for seeing the original post and where you can post a reply. Posting a reply to the list will not benefit the original author of the message board post as chances are, they may not subscribed to this list. Also by posting your response to the message board, a copy of your answer will be sent to the list (so you don't have to do it yourself). The message boards are designed to work in conjunction with this mailing list and with the MOGenWeb site for this county. I am the admin for all of these functions so that they will work smoothly together to benefit the researchers of this county. My goal is to assist researchers in this county by making their "online" research as easy as possible. If you have any questions, please contact me privately at shirleyscott@juno.com . Since I am the CC/Admin for Maries Co MOGenWeb, Pulaski Co MOGenWeb and Ripley Co MOGenWeb, please put which county you are referring to so that I can give you a specific answer (with URLs if necessary).
