I received a MOMARIES email from tnt with an atch. The subject line mentioned the obit of Dora Helton (one of my ancestors). I did not open atch but replied to tnt and it came back - unable to deliver. Thank you for letting me know about the list having a virus. Maybe that's why I haven't been getting much mail. Alice
I just got a Badtrans B virus from tnt with the Subject " Re: MOMARIES The way they talked. Norton caught it, thank goodness. I don't think this is coming from the list but from someone who saved an e-mail I wrote that came through the list. That is how the virus got my e-mail address.

The list DOES NOT have a virus. Rootsweb has assured us that no virus/worm, etc. can come through the list. A virus can only be sent from one individual to another. For more information: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/announce.html#badtrans Rootsweb has asked that this NOT be discussed on the lists wasting bandwidth and scaring the less knowledgable users. LIST RULES: 1) Keep your message genealogy related. No warnings, chain letters, etc. 2) Use the subject line to your best advantage. Some people won't bother to read your message unless the subject line catches their eye. I firmly believe that it is their loss, but do try to put something pertinent in the subject line. 3) Post messages in PLAIN TEXT only. Messages not in PLAIN TEST will be rejected and returned to you. For help in changing from HTML to PLAIN TEXT e-mail, go to http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm 4) If you have any questions regarding how this list is run, or have any suggestions for new procedures, then e-mail me privately at <shirleyscott@juno.com>. 5) If you do not like the way someone formats their queries or responses, or the content of their message, or the subject line; take it up with me or the poster PRIVATELY. List Settings: List Name prepended to subject line. Largest message allowed is 10K. Digests will be sent every 12 hours or 20K, whichever comes first. Three bounces and you will be removed from list. Hitting reply will send your reply to the list. Gateway: The message board for this county/surname is set up so that any messages posted will be forwarded to this list. You will know that it is a message board posting because it will start with this line: "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list." Later in the message it will give you a URL for seeing the original post and where you can post a reply. Posting a reply to the list will not benefit the original author of the message board post as chances are, they may not subscribed to this list. Also by posting your response to the message board, a copy of your answer will be sent to the list (so you don't have to do it yourself). The message boards are designed to work in conjunction with this mailing list. I am the admin for all of these functions so that they will work smoothly together to benefit researchers. My goal is to assist researchers by making their "online" research as easy as possible. Forwarded messages: At time I, as ListAdmin, must forward messages to the list. When responding to these messages, please send your reply to the list with a copy to the person I forwarded the message for. Sometimes they are not on the list, so will never see your answer if they do not receive a copy from you. If you have any questions, please contact me privately at shirleyscott@juno.com . Since I am the CC/Admin for several MOGenWeb counties and several surnames, please put which county/surname you are referring to so that I can give you a specific answer (with URLs if necessary). Hi All, I really apologize about coming back with more information to the Helton/Lupardus thing that was in July. However, I'm going thru email trying to get rid of some of it and found this. Eunice Helton, dau of Martin Helton and Nancy Branson md "Mont" Lupardus, she was born between 1870 and 80 would be my guess md about 1900. Maggi

Hi, Wondering if anyone who owns a scanner also has the Maries County Book I... there is a photo on page 396 of several women of the surname SIMPSON and I believe them to be my ancestors. If anyone has this, I would greatly appreciate a "quick scan"!!! thanks!
