    1. [MOMADISO-L] Census lookup request

    3. Hello list, I'd like to request a huge favor, if anyone on the list has access to the 1870 Madison County census records. I've been searching all over southern Missouri trying to determine where "my" John A. Bunch family was in 1870. I have run into one dead end after another, but finally had a flash of inspiration that I HOPE!!! has put me on the right track. I know that John's daughter Nancy, married Elisha Peterson, who had land in Polk and Dallas Counties. A search of the GLO Bureau of Land Management database showed that an "Alfred Bunch" had purchased land adjacent to the Peterson's at around the same time in the late 1850's. I wonder if the "A" in John A. Bunch is "Alfred"??? At any rate, there is an Alfred Bunch listed in German township (on page 322 according to the AIS index) and interestingly enough, there is a "Susan Perry" listed on page 323 -- John's daughter Susan married Benjamin Perry in 1868 in Dallas Co., and the 1870 mortality schedule indicates a Benjamin Perry died in Dallas Co. in 1869. It may turn out to be the wrong people, but it sure sounds promising! So, if anyone has access to the 1870 census, I would be most appreciative of a lookup for Alfred Bunch and Susan Perry. Happy holidays to you all!!!
