    3. I am wondering about Francis Marion Matthews... Geraldine's CW book says p364 says he was son of John Matthews Jr and Nancy Smith which I too, thought was a good possibility. The Francis I was looking for shows up: 1850 Madison Co MO #272 John Boswell 39 TN (prob Overton Co) Thaletha A (Talitha) 20 MO (sister of Francis Matthews) Isaac S 30 MO Helen M 1 MO Francis M Matthews 18 MO Adalia Matthews 20 MO Thomas B Matthews 16 MO 1876 Madison Co State census Francis M Matthews male 0-45 Mary F (0-45) Francis (male) 18-21 Harriet 10-18 Catherine under 10 John under 10 Francis Marion married Mary Case. The Francis Marion below appears to be the son of William Riley Matthews. > 1850 Pulaski County, Missouri > Dwelling 24, family 24. > Mathews, William 52 m Ia $600 farmer > " , Nancy 45 f Ky > " , John W. 23 m Ky farmer > " , Francis M. 18 m Mo > " , Araminta 15 f Mo > " , Amanda 12 f Mo > Bartley, William 21 m Tn laborer > > !CENSUS: 1860 U.S. Census; Pulaski County, Missouri; 18 April - 14 July; > John > B. Ellis, Enumerator. > Dwelling 359, family 359. > Matthews, Marion 25 m Mo farmer > " , Mary 21 f Tn > " , Araminta 4 f Mo > " , William 7/12 m Mo > Case, Josiah 14 m Mo > Jackson, Thomas 20 m Tn > > Francis Marion and Mary Case Matthews (md 11 Mar 1855, Pulaski) > They lived and died and buried in Pulaski county, Missouri > Their children were: > 1. Arminta Elizabeth (John Thomas Miller) > 2. John R. Matthews > 3. William Major Matthews (Elizabeth Petty) > 4. Francis Marion (Amanda J. Hamilton) > 5. James Monroe (Nancy Elizabeth Case) > 6. Theodocia Mattie ( William Hamilton Leek) > 7. Nancy Matthews > 8. Enoch M. Matthews (Ida Riddle) > > 5 of these children went on to live and died in Oklahoma. So....I am trying to learn of the Francis Marion son of John Matthews Jr and Talitha Boswell. Possibly the Pulaski bunch are related to the Madison Co bunch? Clark
