For several years I have been trying to find some information about 2nd great grandfather Walter H. Brookes' ancestors. His obit states that he was born in Prince Georges Co. MD 7 May 1798 moved to D,C. in his youth where he was captured by the British in the War of 1812. He moved to Missouri in 1818. He died in Fredericktown Mo. 15 Jan 1892.
