I just went to www.google.com and put in "iron mountain railroad 1870 Missouri" as my search string. Had 1880 hits. Some were about a road in Michigan. Beginning with a brief history of the STLIM&S at: http://www.geocities.com/~mopac/stlim_1.htm http://www.cyndislist.com/railroad.htm is probably a very complete set of links for railroads. I'd expect some decent history in the Mercantile Library in St. Louis, now housed at U of MO at St. Louis. Gerald J.
