Microfilm looks old fashioned projector film....on a continuous roll with pages of information as frames. It is read on a machine that allows you to advance the roll of film. Microfiche is a card of transparent photographic material (like an xray) but it's about 5 x 9 inches. It also has pages in frames and is read side to side rather than being rolled. It's reader allows you to insert the card a view different section with a magnifying projection. Michele
