I never could get the FTP 1830 link to work here. Also, when I dropped down through the links from http://us-census.org I couldn't find anything for Madison County - 1830. 1850 FTP worked fine, of course. I don't know if I missed something or just never found the new URL. Thanks for the "heads-up" though. I'll give it another try later, in case something really was missing when I tried. I also got error messages from trying to click on the "ftp" long link. Found it my clicking on ftp.us-census.org and then clicking on the sub-directories to Madison County, and the 1830 census.
