I am seeking data about either a David or Daniel Stephens that may have lived in Madison County at one time or another. I have records of a David Stephens moving in and out of Iron Co. I am having a difficult time tracking his family's path...any assistance is appreciated. The David or Daniel I speak of was born abt 1850, suposedly in MO. I have no idea who his father was other than a relative stated she thought his father's name was Lanphard, or either men could have had the nickname Pard at one time. I have the death certificate for David Stephens born about 1850 and died in 1918, he is buried at Mtn. View Cem at Des Arc, MO His father's name has been listed as Lanphard on David's death certificate. The occupation listed for David was minister and farmer. I cannot find any record of a Lanphard... The 1876 Iron Co Census placed a David in Union Twn with wife Delina, son John and daughter Mary. I believe my Great Grandmother Alice D Stephens was the next child born in 1877. There was an article in the 1918 Iron Co Register Newspaper with a write up in the Des Arc Items. It stated Rev. Daniel Stephens of Crane Pond was brought to Des Arc for burial. It also stated he was a servant of God and a precaher in the General Baptist Church. One daughter Mrs. Charley Wright had been at his bedtime at the time of his death. His wife and children were there to mourn him. I know of children John; Mary, who married Murrell or James Murrell Henderson and had daughter Jenny, Mary then married Mr. Charley Wright, he was the father of Owen Wright; and daughter Alice who married James Hicks first, and then Samuel Marion Stephens. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone with any data or suggestions write to me at Vangoz@netscape.net Phyllis Russell-Zeleny ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.
