    2. Dr. Gerald N. Johnson, electrical engineer
    3. 1 David was married to Margaret ?. He died in what is now Bollinger Co MO in 1823. 2. Davis Johnson was born in 1786. Married Betsy/Elizabeth Cato in Christian Co KY in 1808 or 1809. 3. Joseph D. Johnson married Maria Louisa Johnson, his first cousin, daughter of my gggp Noble Johnson. She was known as Maria Louisa Moss having first married Joseph L Moss. The Moss family lived in Randolph Co Ill for a time. The list of 2s should include: 2 Noble Johnson b 1796 in a Carolina, married Margarette Pinkerton b. 1806 in 1829. In the 1839 census there were 5 or 6 children, clearly not all from Margarette. The implication is that there was a first wife, but no descendents have proven that yet. 2 Jonathan Johnson married Mary (I have that in a pile here). Both died at Jackson Mo in 1830. 2 Ransom Johnson lived a while in Arkansas but his estate was probated in Madison Co Mo. He had a daughter Maria L. Johnson and a son Edward A Johnson that were in the Noble Johnson household at times. At least Maria Louisa was officially cared for and Edward A was married in Noble's house (in Perry County). 2 William Johnson married Jane McGehee in Christian Co KY about 1808. He died before 1828. 2 Sarah Johnson, married a Spivey. 2 Willey Emmy Johnson married John Baker, probably in Kentucky. Died before her father. His estate papers give her share of the estate to her children. Search for her descendents information on Alvy Ray Smith's web page http://www.alvyray.com I have more of the David Johnson family history on my web page and will be posting more as I get it more organized. http://www.tebra.net/~geraldj/ The best we've traced so far, the family lived pretty much together and was in Christian County KY from at least 1808 through the 1810 census. Several members of the family (David and wife, Davis and wife, William and wife) joined the Bethel Baptist Church at Jackson MO in 1812. David had land near Cane Creek in what is now Bollinger Co MO. Noble and other family members paid taxes in Cape Girardeau County (which included the Bollinger Co location) up to 1823. Noble paid taxes but had no land in Perry County in 1828 through 1845. He bought land in Madison Co MO in 1847 and was elected JP in Madison Co in 1849. He died in 1873, the last mention of Margarette we've found was the 1860 census. Judging by the neighbors in the Perry Co census, Noble lived a different place in 1840 than in 1830 when I believe he lived in the Longtown area. I'm still sorting that out. Noble was reported as being a blacksmith in the 1840 through 1860 census. At least one person has claimed that his shop was at the southeast corner of the intersections of HWY E and K in Madison County. Land that he owned was over the ridge in Spanish survey 847.
