As you can see, Linda Crannell, a/k/a The Poorhouse Lady, is seeking information about poorhouses throughout the state for their web site. If any of you have information about a poorhouse in Madison County, you might want to send that information to her so it can be included on the web site. By the way, there's a fascinating letter that's recently been posted there about the conditions of the Jefferson County Poorhouse in 1896.
