I see there are a few people out there who have a pretty good knowledge of Sheriffs, but how about Marshalls? >From obits, there were mentions that my g-grandfather and gg-grandfather served as Marshall's: Andrew RUTH, probably about the 1880's and Frank Ruth, probably in the 1930's or 40's. I was sad to hear that Fern Wamser had passed away. At one time I had contacted her regarding Matheldred Bass Venable and his wife, Mary Ann Tidwell, and their corresponding families. I was hoping to get more information from her and then she had her stroke. Does anyone know who might have her genealogical information. I am still interested in sharing information on this family. I have a copy of the 1935-1936 Missouri Legal Directory which was the first Missouri Legal Directory published by Legal Directories Publishing Company, Inc. who has published an annual directory just about every year since.
