    2. Richard Graham
    3. Hello! I recently saw an online listing of Madison Co.'s Register of Births and found the names of Claudie May and Carrie Day Sitze (twins) born on February 5, 1884 at Rock Point. Their parents were John Sitze and Mary Elizabeth Whitener. I was wondering if John and Mary are also the parents of Eddie Silas Sitzes born December 12, 1885, died December 27, 1951 buried in Oddfellow's Cemetery (New Section). Eddie married Ollie Eulora Graham on September 16, 1915 and Ollie is the daughter of James Samuel Graham and Mary Jane Hovis. Thanks! 2. Erica
    3. Hi All! I ran across this site today and found it VERY interesting. Perhaps you've seen it, but if not I hope you enjoy it also. Sometimes while researching my family history, I've forgotten about the times that our ancestors lived in. This site allows you to specify the dates, then gives a listing of all world events for that timeframe. It helped me put things into perspective. http://www.ourtimelines.com/create_tl_2.html Hope you find interesting and a little useful. Erica Clark

    2. Horatio Paul McAfee
    3. Hi Kit: I am a descendent of the Deguires of Madison and St. Francois Counties (and Ste. Genevieve, earlier). Of course, the Deguires were the principal founders of St. Michael's township. The leader of those early Deguires in Madison Co. was Paul Deguire who was married to Marianne LaChance. They were the parents of my great-great grandfather, Francis P. Deguire who made a lot of money mining lead at Mine LaMotte. He brought his wife and children to Texas in about 1845. My records show only that a Jean Baptist Deguire of this period was also a son of Paul Deguire. Alas, I have nothing on the Brewers. The Deguire family came to Madison County from Ste. Genevieve in about 1800. Missouri achieved statehood in 1821 and between those two times there was no local government to speak of. The land that the Deguires "owned" was land they had acquired through simply living on. Some of that land was taken from them in later proceedings. I hope you find what you are looking for and I appreciate you bringing up the Brewers and others I had not heard of. 3. I am looking for information on the family of Howel Brewer. Howel sold land to Babtiste Deguire in Jan 1826, this land is said to be "the same land" purchased from Joseph Lachance-- but I can not find the earlier transaction; Nancy [Brewer] and John B. Dequire, and Mary Louisa [unknown] and Nimrod Brewer are listed as Howel's beneficiaries in 1832 probate records; Nancy and John Babtise Deguire were Married in Madison Co., MO in 1818. Nimrod's family moved on to Reynolds and Iron Counties in Missouri. Nancy and J.B. Deguire apparently left Madison county to UNKNOWN? I am looking especially for census records and information on Nancy and J.B. Deguire; for the land transaction between Howel Brewer and Joseph Lachance; and for the marriage of Mary Louisa and Nimrod Brewer. Any information would be appreciated, Thank you, Kit Brewer Columbia, MO

    2. Clark Sinclair
    3. I know very little about Columbus Wright....I think that he had a daughter Mary E b 1872 ...if that is the case, he married someone before Mary Boswell....the Boswell family is connected to the Matthews family (which I am connected Mary Boswell mother was Tabitha Matthews, sister to Amy Matthews Mitchell).... (Mary Alice Boswell, (I think??) married 2nd 26 Jan 1880 Madison Co MO to Jesse Wilcox Nifong...but that has to be confirmed....I think she was a school teacher) John Matthew mentions a daughter Amy MITCHELL in his will.....I have never proven who exactly her husband is...I thought it might be William M Mitchell Jr. (but now I am not sure if he married Margaret Churchman) a Robert S Mitchell m Eleanor Matthews 13 Nov 1848 Madison Co MO (can't identify either person) **** in records at death of old William Mitchell in 1853, a receipt from Ancil Matthews (who was Amy's brother) to William M Mitchell for $4.00 for his coffin ***** This little item to me suggests a very close relationship too!!! If I am not mistaken William Mitchell found 1830 Madison Co MO p342... one age 70-80, one 40-50; two 10-15; 1 15-20...with 2 females under 5; 1 female 30-40 and one slave.........not sure about 1840 census. I am as lost as everyone else regarding what happened to Amy Mitchell...and specifics. (I would not be surprised if their were MORE relations to old William Mitchell and John Matthews b ca 1771).... John Matthews is my 4thGG as his dau Elizabeth m John Sinclair Jr. Elizabeth was step sister to Amy Matthews MITCHELL. Clark
