    1. [MOMADISO-L] Wanted ancestors! Bryant
    2. I would love to find more about my great great grandparents.  I know very little of them, I have seen the small family on the census.  I have some documentation of her surname, but can find nothing on her family or name. William Penn Bryant born South Carolina (according to census) married Elmina T Saypaw who was born in North Carolina.  Birth dates unknown as well as death dates.  I am assuming they died near the turn of the century.  They had two children and possibly more.   Margaret Alice Bryant Campbell b Jan 26, 1884 and a brother by the name of George.  I am told he had an odd pet, like a racoon, he had trained to a leash and would always go with him.  There are many Bryant's in the bootheel area, but I have not linked to one yet.  I look forward to any responses!  Thank you in advance! Cindy Englehart, in Las Vegas

    1. [MOMADISO-L] New Mailing List for Eight County Area
    2. Temples
    3. I am happy to announce a new mailing list for the area of Wayne, Stoddard, Butler, Carter, Iron, Madison, Bollinger, and Reynolds County. This new list is called WAYNE-COUNTY-MO-AREA. The purpose of this list is simple - since Wayne County was much larger than it's current size, and since families tended to moved back and forth between the neighboring counties, this mailing list will be a regional/area mailing list that will encompass Wayne and it's seven border counties. This list is in no way intended to impinge on or replace the all ready well-established MOWAYNE County List. All topics pertaining to the area will be discussed and shared and will be for the family researcher and history caretaker. These topics will include census lookups, cemetery listings for any and all surrounding counties that have been shared or given permission to put online, marriages, and so much more. I welcome all suggestions of what you want or need to see on the list. This is YOUR mailing list! To subscribe to the List mode, send to wayne-county-mo-area-l-request@rootsweb.com and type the word subscribe in the subject line and in the message box. If you prefer the digest mode, you will need to send the command instead to wayne-county-mo-area-d-request@rootsweb.com. Hope you will join me there! Terry Black Temples

    2. Barbara Pike
    3. Holly...I don't have any info for you on your comptons, but I'm interested in your Tong connection. I have that John Hezekiah Tong was the son of William Tong & his 2nd wife, Mary Thomas. William Tong was first married to Eleanor Ford, and had Theodore Frederick Tong (1787) who m. Drucilla Robinson. Their daughter Nancy Tong (1813) m. Jacob Lanius. Jacob was the son of Daniel Lanius and Polly Butt. Jacob's sister, Malinda Lanius, was my great great grandmother. She married Thomas Elmore Craddock (1819) in Madison Co., MO in Aug 1841. Thomas had a brother, John Craddock, who had gone to Texas as a young man, and died there in 1843. They must have brought him back to MO, because there is a note that his coffin was made by T. F. Tong. Barbara Craddock Pike Holly Bell wrote: > Am reaching a dead end in Madison Co. on my Compton line. 1. [MOMADISO-L] Free lookups of Revolution War Patriots
    2. I received this in my mail from another list and thought I would share this wonderful opportunity. Dear All: Some volunteers from the society of the Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR) have established a wonderful new program for users of Rootsweb. These volunteers will do lookups in their database and records if you think one of your ancestors served in some capacity during the American Revolution. These volunteers have more databases that are available to them  than the ones commonly used by the search engines. The process is fairly simple : Go to the DAR message board: There are two ways to do that: www.rootsweb.com message boards topics organizations and societies DAR Or if you want the easy way :-) http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=topics.organizations.dar Address your message as follows: subject : DAR Lookup > surname> location > dates In the body of the message put the information regarding the person, Be sure to fill out the surnames box at the bottom since the new search engine will be keying on that item. Leave the email response box checked and you will be notified when the DAR volunteers respond . Give them a  week or so to get to your request. We really appreciate their efforts. This info can be key for: a: joining these prestigious organizations ( DAR & SAR) b: sending a request for the copies of the  files that were     submitted and the information they have available. Many thanks to: Glenda Thompson DAR VIS Volunteer Vice Chrm. Patriot Lookup For organizing this effort and all the many volunteers that are donating their time and effort to us instead of pursuing their own ancestors, Best Regards John A Hansen DAR board admin. BTW: Please forward this message to other lists and boards          that each of you are involved in.         A word of thanks to each volunteer that does this work         and especially the one that responds to your post would        probably be highly appreciated.

    1. [MOMADISO-L] Wintford Goad
    2. Terry Confer
    3. I am looking for my grandfather Goad's family and found the following information for his cousin. Wintford Taylor Goad, born 11 Jul 1901-9 Nov 1964 S/O Jas. &Margaret (Whiteaker) H/O Blanche is apparently buried in Beulah Cemetery in Madison County. (This is from a message I found at rootsweb.com.) According to the SSDI, his last residence is Des Arc, MO, which I believe is Iron County. Wint worked at Federal Mine #12 in 1945, (he is pictured in the book St. Francois County Looking Back vol. II). I believe Wint is my grandfather's cousin, and I've been unable to get past my grandfather in the family tree, so I'm hoping someone has info on Wint that I could follow up and possibly find a link. 3. In the 1700s the name Thomas Davis is as thick as the hairs on a dog's back. 1. [MOMADISO-L] Dr. George T Pool and Emma A Rudy, Knob Lick
    2. Terry Confer
    3. In a recent trip to St. Francois County, I was looking for parents of Sarah Pool and found another relative. At Knob Lick Cemetery, there are children Leah Faye Pool and Rudy Herbert Pool, both children of Dr. G. T. and E. A. Pool. The children were very young and died during the 1890's. I believe this to be George T Pool and Emma A Rudy who married 2 Oct. 1884 (license issued in St. Francois County but married in Fredericktown, Madison County). I'd like to see if George is Sarah's brother. Per my aunt, Sarah also had brothers Frank and Cincinatus, and sisters that married into the following families: Tawfall, McCormick, and Sikes. Anyway, if anyone is related to any of these Pool's I'd be happy to share info. I believe Sarah's parents to be August Pool and Amanda Herbert, but I've not been able to locate any info on either of them. Sarah was born in 1852, I believe in New Madrid County MO. Would be happy to share what I do have. Thanks, Terry __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? NEW from Yahoo!
