This is a small town close to the county line of Macon County and Adair county. John and Mary Jane Blaud/Bland Gates. John b. 8-18-1836 d. 5-15-1931. Mary b. 10-04-1847 d. 4-29-1918. I have not been able to figure out who John's parents were. It is not on his death certificate. John may have a brother by the name of Joseph Eddy Gates b. 1859 ? d. 9-11-1871. I have not been able to prove this. John & Jane had ten children: Mary Willard (Will) Ella Samuel Ed George Lemuel (Lem) Elmer Jessie Stella May Samuel Gates was my Great-Grandfather who was married to Lilly White Dudley. When Samuel passed away, she married Samuel's cousin Joe Gates. Samuel & Lilly had four children, Nelia Gates Haun d. 1980, Flossie Gates Cross, Wardie, and James Albert.
