So far he's not been easy to trace. What I know is: Jonathan Morris, born about 1825 Maryland or Delaware; married 1st unknown and 2nd Charlotte Brewington 19 October 1848 Ripley Co., IN. Jonathan had at least three children by his first wife. They are: 1. John W. Morris, born 1840 Maryland; probably died before 1 May 1931. No other info. 2. James R. Morris, born 1842 Maryland; also probably died before 1 May 1931. No other info. 3. Emery Cylvanus Morris (he went by E.C.), born December 1847 Maryland; died before 1 May 1931; married 15 May 1870 to Elizabeth Frances (Cupp) Kiper. I've also seen the name listed as Kipper. Jonathan married 2nd Charlotte Brewington who was born about 1820 Maryland. Their children were: 1. Benjamin Theodore Morris, born 7 August 1849 Indiana; died 11 March 1936 Macon Co., MO; married 23 December 1975 Macon Co., MO to Mary E. Moore, daughter of William Green & Sarah Frances (Lucas) Moore. Benjamin and Mary are buried in Bloomington Cemetery, Macon Co., MO. 2. Louis/Lewis Cass Morris, born 17 November 1952 Indiana; died 12 February 1925 Henry Co., MO; married 26 August 1880 Macon Co., MO to Mary Susan Gilstrap. Louis and Mary are buried in Pleasant Valley Ceme., Henry Co., MO. 3. Lee Andrew "Lon" Morris, born September 1854 Indiana; died 17 May 1933 Monegaw Springs, St. Clair Co., MO. He married 27 March 1879 Macon Co., MO to Mary Elizabeth Moore, daughter of Isaac Newton and Martha Frances (Runnels) Moore. Lee and Mary are buried in Mt. Zion Ceme., St. Clair Co., MO. 4. Sarah Jane Morris, born 25 August 1856 Indiana or Missouri; died 1 May 1931 Macon Co., MO; married John T. Skinner on 1 January 1872 Macon Co., MO. Sarah and John are buried in Ballenger Cemetery, Macon Co., MO. 5. Annie Margaret Morris, born 31 December 1858 Macon Co., MO; died 21 May 1932 Appleton City, St. Clair Co., MO; married 26 January 1877 Macon Co., MO to Isaac Newton "Tobe" Moore; he died in 1890 and she married 2nd Henry Isaac Sagaser 6 March 1901 St. Clair Co., MO. "Tobe" was the son of Isaac Newton & Martha Frances (Runnels) Moore. Tobe is buried in Brownington Cemetery, Henry Co., MO beside his father whose death occured two months prior to his. Annie & Henry are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, St. Clair Co., MO. 6. There is possibly a daughter named Tabitha E. Morris, as listed on census as: Tabitha E., born about 1857/1858 Macon Co., MO. There is a Tabitha E. Morris in Henry Co., MO who married William S. Stone 16 October 1876 Henry Co., MO. This Tabitha died 1936 Henry Co., MO and is buried in Stones Chapel Cemetery, Henry Co., MO. He is listed as a child of Uriah and Eleanor on a Family Group Sheet found at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. In the 1880 census Samuel and wife, Harriet, and family were living in Macon Co. He may be part of Uriah's family but I haven't yet found information that positively connects him.
