You need to look at all of the lettering in the document to compare. If that doesn't help, you need to look at neighbors in the area at the time...using Census records or whatevers available, to determine the signature on the document. What time frame was this document written and where? Nancy Thomas
Mystery I think is solved and Patricia McMackin on the Williams surname list. I started looking through the 1860 census (this is in Lincoln Co. TN) (the will was from 1856) and sure enough... there is a Mijamin Smith... the guy I'm looking for! Thank you all! You're the greatest! Joyce
If any of you could take a minute to see what you think this name is and give me your opinion... I'd certainly appreciate it! I think it's Benjamin. But when a "B" is used throughout the rest of the this will is clearly a "B" Thanks, Joyce http://www.ancestraljournal.com/wmbarrow/smithname.htm
I have just discovered a family photo in my grandmother's photos. I don't know any of the people she writes about on the back of it and am hoping someone on the list will know one of these people. The photo is of six people, two couples, on woman and one child. Here is what my grandmother wrote on the back of the photo: "The Morey's In Middle Aunt Mollie Bailey and Dearie L (maybe that is Pearl) (also had Ebba) Aunt Ella Morey, Uncle Charles Morey, I forget who the couple on the right is. This was in Mama's pictures, Mary Murray Earp. I am her daughter, Violet Cribbet." My grandmother was Mary Violet FRITZ b. 1906 (m. George Walter CRIBBET b. 1904) she was born in Macon Co and lived in Barton Co as well. Mary Etna "Marie" MURRAY b 1883 (m. John Augest "Gust" FRITZ b. 1874) was her "mama" who was born in Macon Co. If you know anything about any of these people, please contact me. Thank you, Janis

In preparation for the reunion we have set up an Email address for use of those that would like to subscribe to an E-mail news letter. The way it works is you send us any information you have about when the school first opened, anyone that attended or taught there, stories about the events that were held there, or just the special times you had there. We will then forward them to all that are on the E-mail list. We plan to make a CD and make them available to those that want them after the reunion. We hope to include some pictures of the reunion. If someone has pictures of the Old School we would like those also. We will scan them and return them to you. Just send us your E-mail address and you will be on the list. We will not include your E-mail address in the news letter. Thanks and Andyover! Chariton School Reunion June 7, 2003. See you there!
