Surnames: Kirkpatrick Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DNB.2ACI/480.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't believe that the information you have on Thomas Isaac Kirkpatrick is correct. The Thomas Isaac Kirkpatrick who was born in 1832 and married Lurena Stamish Stanley was my gg-grandfather. According to his gravestone in Glencoe, OK, and according to Cutler's History of Kansas, he was born in 1832 in North Carolina. According to the 1850 Randolph County MO census, the Thomas who may have been part of your family (child of William and Virginia) was 3 years old in 1850. I want the information to be true as much as anyone - I've been hunting Thomas Isaac's family for years - but things aren't adding up. Can anyone tell me where the info came from to validate that Thomas Isaac Kirkpatrick was part of this family? Thanks -

Surnames: Kirkpatrick, Thomas, Turner Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DNB.2ACI/480.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Jim- Thanks for the new leads! The name Mary isn't in my info but that doesn't mean much because I haven't been able to verify Loud's family yet. It's interesting that her mother was from Virginia & father was from Missouri because my info is that Loud's father, William Prune was from Mo & mother, Virginia Thomas was from Virginia - they were married in Randolph Co. Dec 24, 1845. I have the name Kias N. Kirkpatrick as being Wm P.'s brother so it could be possible that he also had brothers named Mark & Thomas. - the timing would be about right. I also find it interesting to see the name "Suil" - surely that name & "Souel" were very unusual names - perhaps they could be the same. Wm Prune & Virginia had 8 children: Thomas Isaac (b. 1832 d. 1912) m. Lurena Stamish Stanley Souel (d. abt 1917) m. Bettie; children were Emma & Arthur Rufus m. Charlotte Golden Virginia m. Fred Conrad James Alonzo (b. 1855 d. 1939) m. Rebecca Orenda Golden (b. 1869 d. 1933) had 6 children b. 1886 - 1908 - Elmer, Wm, Roy Thomas, Homer, James Raymond & Virgil Audrey I have no info on Willie or Daisy Louden (Loud) (b.Dec 31, 1853 Mo. d. Jan 26, 1948 Augusta or Wichita Ks) m. Margaret Ann Turner (b. 3/20/1857 Huntsville, Mo d. 3/10/1941 Wichita, Ks) in Randolph Co, Mo 12/23/1880. They had 9 children 1881 - 1902. Alva, Aubrey, Nora L., Walter, Loren Noble, Fanny Belle (my grandmother), Edith M. Olive E., & Alma Hester. So now you know just about everything I know about the Kirkpatrick side of the family. If I find anything about any Marshall's, I'll sure let you know. Thanks again, Janie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DNB.2ACI/480.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Janie, I checked the 1880 Missouri Census for Randolph County. It lists Henry's wife's first name as Mary M. Marshall and lists their children: Charles, Thomas and Claude Marshall. Listed at the end is Loudon Kirkpatrick. It states that he is Mary's brother. It shows him as being born in 1854 in Missouri. Althought they are listed as siblings, the birthplaces for their parents are different for each of them. Mary shows Kentucky as the birthplaces of her parents (her birthplace is listed as Missouri), while Loudon shows Missouri for the father and Virginia for his mother (it also lists him as being born in Missouri). It's possible that the census taker spoke with each separately. I found a P. Kirkpatrick, born in 1799, living in the City of Macon, Missouri in the 1880 Census. She is noted as having been born in Virginia. She is listed with the Thomas H. Smith Family and is noted as a Mother-in-law. Thomas' wife is listed as Sarah F. Smith. I don't recognize the n! ames in your message, but I haven't been able to come up with much, so far, on my GGGUncle Henry S. Marshall, his wife and children. Do any of the names I pulled from the census align with your Kirkpatrick family? I also checked the Bureau of Land Management site and found that a Mark H. and Thomas Kirkpatrick purchased Federal land in Randolph County in the 1830's. I also found a land purchase under the Homestead Act for a "Suil" Kirkpatrick in 1904 in St. Clair County. I mention this because one of the names in your previous message was "Souel" Kirkpatrick-a brother to Loudon. Jim
