He came off the ship "Alesto" in 1848 and did creaate that large business empire in St. Louis. I have traced out FrederickWenneker to the ship "City of New York", arriving in New York in1848. The manifest shows him as Frederick Heinrick Wenneker from what is Dortmund (of old East Prussia), Germany. I have traced his parents, the Winkers, to 1790. Try as I might through research and the St. Lewis County Central Library, I can find no signs or possible indications that he was related to us. Our Wenneker married a Hannah Gerrish (1848-1918) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. They did marry in St. Louis where our Frederick was living. All their children moved up to Quincy in Adam's County. I have had absolutely no idea where Frederick Winker (Later Wenneker) is buried...but it must be in or around St. Louis...but I have located the grave sites of most of his children. Remember that you did once bring me up to date on Katy...who I mistakenly thought died young. Keep me posted friend. When I travel back there...I shall visit you and we will compare notes. PS...How is the farming going around Emerson? God Bless your crops. Take care my friend. Verle E.
