    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. There is no way to tell from this whether Elizabeth is in any of their households, of course. Boo! These, as well as Elizabeth show on the 1850 census under the Creasy and Creacy spellings. From what I can see, the elder Thomas aged 65 on the 1850 census (I know, he aged rapidly by 1860!)had perhaps children or maybe grandchildren born in KY (impossible to tell the relationship at this point). Elizabeth lived smack in the middle of a group of Creacys as follows: 1850 District 48 Lewis Co. Elizabeth's household may or may not be her children. They could be nieces and nephews. These Creacys born in KY prompted a look at the Revolutionary War records as KY was bounty land for Virginians in the war. There was a John Creasey who served in the Revolution showing he lived in Cumberland Co, VA when drafted, returned to there, moved to Henry Co., VA, then relocated to Cumberland Co. KY where he applied for his pension. This I think is worth investigating because of the following: >From the book "HISTORY OF LEWIS, CLARK, KNOX AND SCOTLAND COUNTIES, MISSOURI" Originally printed in 1887, Reprinted by Stevens Publishing Co. Astoria, Ill. 6 1501. Pg. 29 reads as follows: In 1829 there was a considerable immigration into the country, more than in the previous five years.By the close of the year cabins were plentifully sprinkled along the bottom as far north as six miles a above Canton, and through the timber, chiefly along the Fabius, six miles west of the river. One party, that came this year into what is now Union Township, was composed of John G. Nunn, Grandfather John Wash (a revolutionary soldier), his son, John Wash,Jr., Thomas Creacy, John A. Gerhart and his father, Peter Gerhart and Elisha Whitlow and their families; a Mr. William stopped in Marion. **All were from Cumberland Cty, KY.** The party reached Lewis Cty in the month of October. As they crossed the S. Fabius, a little northwest of Maywood, they came upon a recently abandoned encampment of the Sac Indians. The Fires were still smoking, and near by was a fresh grave, which it was learned was that of a squaw. The low mound was covered by a canopy, or shed, made of strips of bark resting upon four posts or forks. My Note: Lewis County was Marion County until 1833. I have a sneaking suspicion the posted trees I see might have this family attached to the wrong father. It will take a great deal more mapping out, but John Creasy's will is on file with the following person's mentioned (this is just a list I found in an index, I have not seen the will and do not know the relationships) Persons named in will as contained in Cumberland County Will books from 1815-1912 CREASY Daniel John Jr. John Sr. Joseph Joseph H. Martha Sally Susanna Thomas William Winaford J Kentucky Wills Book: Book C Page: Page 411 Name: John Creasy, Sr. Probate Date: 15 Nov 1839 Did Elizabeth leave a will, do you know? I think wills and land records are going to be the key to solving some of your dilemma. Do you have a copy of Jesse's will? BTW, I didn't find Thomas Creasy in the 1830 census I might suggest it would be helpful to you to do the two week free trial at Footnote.com They have many more and more complete pension records than those on Heritage Quest. I found my revolutionary many times great grandfather had 21 pages of pension record on HQ and more than 100 on Footnote. You might also have a look at what databases are being offered free through World Vital Records right now. They had loads of VA DBs a couple of weeks ago.
