My foremother, Elizabeth Hore Creasy left, Bedford Co Va and came to Missouri around the year 1836 and bought public claims of her own in Lewis Co. Her husband, Jesse Creasy, died in Bedford Co. Va about 1836. Elizabeth had a large family leaving some children in Va, and taking some with her or joining them later. My ancestors were her daughters Savonia H. Creasy and Caroline Fleming Creasy who stayed in Va. Savonia and Caroline were my grandfather's grandparents. YES, his parents were first cousins : Irene Weatherford Scott and James Thomas Updike. I want to know which of her children came with her and whether other extended family were in Mo. first. I am still trying to compile a complete list of her children, but some were John, Joel, Elizabeth, Savonia and Caroline Fleming Creasy. The Creasy name was often spelled CREASEY and sometimes Creecy.
