McKenney's gravestone in Maywood Cemetery has this information about him: b. Jan. 12, 1852 / d. Aug. 19, 1889. In the 1880 census his wife was Mary A. McKinney [sic] whose maiden name might have been Kelley. I have not found a marriage record for them. But buried with B.F. McKenney is Mary E. McKenney who d. in 1875. Obviously this woman could not be the one enumerated with him five years after her death! Is there anyone in Lewis County who would be able to see if there is an obit for Benjamin F. McKenney? That might clear up the matter of his wives both named Mary. It might also confirm my thoughts that he was the only son of James McKenney and Sarah Wiseman! Thank you to anyone who can help me out!!
