The informant could have been David A or David O., his son. The A might be for Alexander, since one of the sons was called "Elick" which is a way of pronouncing "Alex". You might try finding a David Leslie in Virginia or another county in MO for the father in 1850. I have an Alice Leslie, b. May 19, 1859 in Scotland County, MO to William and Mary Leslie. She married a Myers, but I'm not sure who. Does anyone connected with this Leslie family know who Alice married? Her death record doesn't say who he was.
