I wanted to say it is next door to Culver Stockton College, but, not sure thats right. I think it is at present, the only cemetery in Canton.
Perhaps you should try a little farther north. I have a Frances Gregory who lived in Des Moines County, IA, and was buried in Henry County, IA. I do not know her husband's name but have the children's names. She also happens to be my father's mother's grandmother. I do have a copy of the obituary that was in the newspaper (which I got from the Des Moines County Genealogical Society). The nearest cemetery to their property is Deer Ridge and they probably died about 1888 or so. They could have gone to live with children nearby and died there though. Before they died they turned over their property to their son, Marshal G. GREGORY who was a Methodist Minister so the information regarding Forrest Grove Cemetery being a Methodist minister cuaght my eye. I wasn't aware of the Canton and Forrest Grove Cemetery movement issues at that time and was wondering where is this Forrest Grove Cemetery located? ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MOLEWIS-request@rootsweb.com<mailto:MOLEWIS-request@rootsweb.com> with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

We must be cousin's because William and Julia Wendover Pilcher are also MY GGGrandparent's! They apparently had at least two boy's named George and Joseph.......Your George Washington Doane and my Joseph Felix Mendellsohn. So, if you come from William and Julia, by way of, George, I come by them via Joseph. So, your George would be my Great Uncle and my Joseph, your Great Uncle. This would make sense; which would also make you and I cousin's. I'll send what I've got; and, would appreciate if you would send what you have.... Thanks.... Janice
