It is located about 2 and one half miles southwest of town. I was there in 1955 and there are numerous stones. Some are "pre-civil war". My family's of Smith's and Richmond's are buried there. I want to come up (from Texas) in late August 2007 and see if I can clean it up and take more photos of it. If you have people there, please call me at 1-800-839-2399 or at my email of lsrv@wmconnect.com as soon as possible. Forgive me if I've asked you this before, but are your Bourn's connected to the Higbee family? I'm from Higbee, MO which was named for a Jos. Higbee. One of his daughters married a John Bourn, and apparently after the oldtimer's death the Bourns and others resettled from our Randolph Co to Clark/Lewis Co's.

The name of father was likely "Duward" or "Duerd" if spelled as it must have sounded. The "D" is the same way he made the "D" in the "Dont know" for mother's maiden name. That is likely "D" O Leslie for the informant as shaped exactly the same as the other 2 "D"s. As to the first name or initial of John Leslie... First letter looks like a fancy "H" and an "r" --but is sure strange. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have an Alice Leslie, b. May 19, 1859 in Scotland County, MO to William and Mary Leslie. She married a Myers, but I'm not sure who. Does anyone connected with this Leslie family know who Alice married? Her death record doesn't say who he was. That sounds and looks like it has a good possibility of being JNR -- short for Junior, rather than JHR. It looks very, very similar in the old script.
