He was a physician and was listed with his family in the 1860 Census in Reddish Township, Lewis County. His wife was Mary and they had 5 children: Lucy, Emily, John, Carroll, and Martha. The last 2 were born in Missouri. Does anyone know anything about this family, or have any suggestions for me? Can you tell me where Reddish Township was located? I am completely unfamiliar with Lewis County, and will appreciate any assistance. Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You said that it read he was born on June 2, 1858 so I believe there was a typo there as well as for the Welsch spelling. His death certificate and obit shows his last named spelled Welsh and both the certificate and obit show he was born June 21, 1858 rather than on June 2nd. Typos happen. At any rate, I'll go with his birth being June 21st. Thank you so very much. I really appreciate the time and effort on your part. J. Possibly some church records also. I believe the LaBelle record is fairly complete. I have a partial listing that was online and the book is different from mine. I'll check for James today. I know the obit for James shows he was buried in LaBelle cemetery and I just assumed maybe the baby was buried in or around where James was buried. Do you know whether James Welsh is shown buried in the LaBelle Cemetery? Did the cemetery book report all buried in the LaBelle Cemetery or only those that had tombstones? Perhaps that is the reason that neither Earl Hodge or the infant Welsh baby can be found? When the Lewis County Cemetery Burial book was completed, was it considred fairly inclusive of all buried in the LaBelle Cemetery? I asked a lot of questions. Sorry. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it. J. Smith Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There is an Earl Hodges buried in LaBelle Cemetery. He died in 1916. He was born either in 1890 or 1893. I would like to know what his stone says--particularly the dates of birth-death. There is also an infant who died in 1901 at the age of 15 months whose last name was Welsh. This infant (don't know sex) was the child of James and Lillie Welsh. Again, I would love to know what the tombstone shows. Can anyone help? Many thanks. J. Smith Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
