But I would still love to see what an obit might say about him and/or his family. He was still a young man (not yet 40 yo) when he died. I wonder if anyone has run across info on two of my German immigrant families to Lewis Co -- the Kaiser's and Welsch's -- both buried at Talona. My gr.grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Kaiser Lillard, whose maiden name, of course, was Kaiser; her mother was a Welsch. One bit of lore was that one of the young women in the family came to Lewis Co at first at age 16 or so with money to buy land, and then the others came out.

Hello folks, Spring at last - for most of us - some of my friends are still battling flood waters. May God help them.... I just finished another Buford Website up-date and want to invite you all to come by and take a look. I reconstructed another Buford line that encompass eight states - from Florida to Kansas and Texas. Over 40 pages in my Microsoft Word. It is a monster and took me a long time in researching. I want to thank all of you who gave me a helping hand along the way - you know who you are.... Hope you all had a Great Winter and are now starting to enjoy Spring. We here in Colorado have sure had our share of the soft White stuff. Snow fall this year is over 200% of the norm. Our rivers will be crowding their banks soon. Take care everyone. Fern K. "Mollie" sister who was named Malonia/Malonie and was nicked named "Lonie" or Lony." John and send wife are found in the 1910 census with his children (her nieces and nephews) along with Roy who was their only son. 1910 MO Census Shelby County, MO, Black Creek Twsp 1/2 West (Part of) E.D. 163, Page 35a, Line 38 April 19, 1910 BARNES, John: 39 Yrs. Married 10 Yr. 5 children/5 alive. MO-MO-MO. Farmer Lonie (Wife): 28 Yrs. Married 10 Yrs. (doesn't show children but if married 10 yrs., she whould have had the son named Roy) MO-MO-MO Esther (Daughter): 16 Yrs. MO-MO-MO Elsie (Daughter): 14 Yrs. MO-MO-MO Robert (Son): 13 Yrs.
