I was forwarded this information from a friend about what is happening in Pierce City. The city is naturally in shock, but still has to meet the needs of it's citizens. The following is needed: 1. Peirce City needs help with payments on their fire truck. With the loss of their tax base from the tornado, they are in danger of losing the fire truck. 2. They are still in need of canned goods, cleaners and household supplies. They are no longer accepting donations of clothing. 3. Clean up continues and Red Cross is asking for 200 volunteers. Thanks Pat Miller
Pat, I wish I could go there and help but I'm 2,00 miles away and on crutches at the moment. However, I would still like to help with a donation. Can you tell me where to send a donation? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat Miller" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 10:00 AM Subject: [MOLAWREN-L] Pierce City still needs help > I was forwarded this information from a friend about what is happening > in Pierce City. I'd like to help too, but I'm 400 miles away and can't drop everything to help either. Sorry about the crutches situation...hope it gets better soon.. Red Cross site is at: http://www.redcross.org/news/ds/tornadoes/030508missouri4.html 1)Red Cross Donations may be sent to: Amercian Red Cross Disaster Relief 1835 E Chestnut Expressway Springfield, MO 65802 Mark in the memo section of the check "Pierce City Disaster Relief". 2) Zip code for Pierce City is 65723. I would suggest you address any written correspondense to the city at the zip code. If you send money, write how you require them to spend it on the memo section of the check; they have to use it for what you request. I don't know anyone in Pierce City so can't find out first hand for you. Pat, John Wall wrote: >Pat, > >I wish I could go there and help but I'm 2,00 miles away and on crutches at >the moment.
