    3. Judy, The message below does not contain his email address as the others did. If you can send an email address for him, I will reply to him. The Spring River Fountain is the only Lawrence County newspaper extant for 1871 and according to Ruth Browning's published extracts, it does not mention his death. And as you know there were no death certificates in Lawrence County for this time period. Also, there is no probate record for him in Lawrence County in the early 1870s which would indicate that he did not live in Lawrence County at the time of his death or else his estate was not large enough to need probate. I would suggest that he check the St. Louis newspapers of which there are several for this time period at the State Historical Society of Missouri in Columbia. The City of St. Louis does have death certificates for this time period even though the State of Missouri does not. They are online at ancestry.com. There is no William T. Scott listed, but there are 32 William Scott listings, 1850-1908. A possible match is: Scott, William Death Date: 27 May 1871 Volume: 4 Page: 134 Birth Place: Cemetery: County Library: RDSL 12 Missouri Archive: C 10370 SLGS Rolls: 311 Address: Orange St Another less likely in late 1870 is: Scott, William Death Date: 23 Nov 1870 Volume: 4 Page: 49 Birth Place: Cemetery: County Library: RDSL 12 Missouri Archive: C 10370 SLGS Rolls: 311 Address: 4005 N 2nd He should also check with the record keepers at Bellfontaine Cemetery if he has not already done so because they may have additional information. You may forward this to him or send me the email address and I'll send it. Ross >>> [email protected] 09/10/03 07:55PM >>> Please reply directly to Harold. His name was William Tolbert Scott, wife Mary Elizabeth Scobee Scott, son George Elias Scott. He was buried at Bellefontaine cemetary in St. Louis in 1871. We don;t know anything about the date of his death or his parentage. We think it is possible that he died in Lawrence in 1870 or 1871. Is it possible that there are any records there which might contain this information? Harold and Marian Knight 8904 Halfway Hill Ct. Granbury, Texas 76049... ==== MOLAWREN Mailing List ==== Whoops!
