    1. [MOLAWREN-L] Obituary- Zachariah Gulick
    2. Obituary (Mt. Vernon Chiefton 31 May 1876) And still another of our aged citizens has been called away to travel that rough and rugged road from whose bourn no traveler returns. Zachariah Gulick died May 25th at 9 o’clock P.M. He was born in 1821, on the bank of the Potomac River in Virginia. Four years ago he married Matilda Ruark, tow miles north of Mt. Vernon and has lived there since. He has been complaining all spring, but was only confined to his bed some sixteen days. Not withstanding his long sickness and much suffering he seldom complained of his lot. He bore under it with the fortitude and courage of a christian. He was a member of the church twenty-five years, and his everyday walk showed that his faith was not without works. His wife and children were ever ready to the bed side to extend a helping hand never leaving him for a single moment, but often oh, how often could that deep sigh be heard which betoken anxiety and distress. His children and two brothers from Jasper County, were with him the last week of his sickness. He was a good neighbor a devoted husband and loving father, uncle Zack is gone but not forgotten. ---------------- Checking the Lawrence Co. Gen Web Site I did not find anyone searching this branch of Ruark: This obit is being posted in case there is interest in others whose lives he, Zachariah Gulick, touched.
