    1. [MOLAWREN-L] Celia Wilkerson
    2. I have read with interested the exchanges on the Stewart-McCoy families. In it the name of Celia Wilkerson as witnessing a marriage was mentioned. She and her husband, W. C. Wilkerson, were my great aunt and uncle. William Crockett, was a brother to my great grandfather, John Washington Wilkerson. The story goes that William Crockett came to Lawrenceburg in 1866 or 67 on a blind mule. He traded the mule for a doctor's book. My great grandfather, John W. Wilkerson, came year later. He and his wife, Nettie, settled in the area around Lawrenceburg and Halltown. Guess there have been Wilkersons in the area ever since. My grandfather was William W. "Billy" Wilkerson. He and my grandmother, Effie McMillin of Everton, lived there where my father, Luther Morrison Wilkerson, was born and raised along with my aunt, Charlene. Dad graduated my Halltown High School and I believe he went to Union School as a boy. I believe he knew John A. Stewart when they were growing up. Just wanted to share. This in any interesting list and I enjoy reading about all the families of the area. Every once in a while, a familiar name pops up. Virginia Wilkerson Halterman
