Jacque (sorry about spelling your name wrong) After I sent the message, I went to the Bowles information at the Dade Co. website and it identifies him as Woodrow Thomas Bowles, b. 1918 (a year younger than my mother), married Wilma Jones in 1951 (place not mentioned). He is identifed there as the son of Oskar Bender Bowles, grandson of Baron DeKalb Bowles (love that name!): http://www.rootsweb.com/~modade/j_bowles_2.htm Regarding Powhatten Simmons, I received recently a very large group picture of the Bird family ca 1930 or so, with persons identified, that is probably of interest. I haven't studied it carefully yet. Also some Simmons folks appear frequently in the Greenfield Vedette today!
