    3. Hi Wilma, Lawrence County Missouri Tombstone Inscriptions, Vol. 9, Pierce City and Western Pierce Township, Pierce City Cemetery, pp. 1-65, does list many names with burial dates but no stones, such as "Schell, J. R., buried 26 June 1936 no stone." This information would have come from some cemetery record books because there are no stones for these burials. There appears to be one or more of these on almost every page of the book. There are several other sections of inscriptions marked: "Free Graves" "Pottersfield" "Single Graves Cemetery Records" "Some of those that in the the Pierce City Cemetery that do not have stones, gathered from old cemetery records." "Names gathered from old newspapers." It appears that the cemetery record books have been used in addition to the tombstone data for this published list. Ross Cameron >>> [email protected] 06/09/03 12:20PM >>> Does anyone know if the Pierce City Cemetery has old Cemetery Records for unmarked graves? I have already seen the books, but they only have the listings of those with headstones. Thanks!
