Gail, That's very interesting. Do you know any more about Thomas and Emily Jane -- such as when they got married? I'm still digging for info about the Davis line, and there is one promising lead that goes back to the 1850s. My gg grandfather was James A. Davis, born Indiana 1840, married Anne Virginia Mankin, maybe in St. Louis 1860, came west in 1864 or 65. I haven't found anything on him before about 1865. I'll keep you posted if I find something.
