I have forgotten directions there but I know the road I think. After you leave the school on it then it is not very rolling. At the top of the first hill was the old John Hildebrandt place and he always had a straw stack behind his house. Now that I am older (what an understatement) I suspect that he kept it there just to have fun with. He always had a bunch of apples under the straw and once in awhile we would sneak in to get one when we thought he wasn't looking. I think he enjoyed chasing us off. Anyway if you continue along you will come to the first big hill with a spill bridge at the bottom. When I was a young man this was where the Sparkman place was and there was a spring behind the house. Up the big hill and then you would come to a cross roads. What is interesting about this crossroads is where it will lead. If straight ahead and a bit off the road was Leo Breidensteins place. If you went to the right and down the hill and up the next hill sat Hank Briedensteins place. Down the hill from Hanks place and off the road a bit is where Ivan Johnson lived and a place we called Blowing Springs. I wonder if it is still there and still blows that cold air in the hot hot summertime. Of course when I mention Blowing Springs I get all sorts of reactions. OK now back to the crossroads. If you went to the left and up the road a bit you would find where we lived on the left (The House is gone) and a bit on where Joe Bob Johnson (my grandfather lived) (House also gone). There are a lot of other places I could write about but will save them for another time. Hope the road I described is North from the school house. At the schoolhouse is a crossroads also. A lot of people that I walked that road with I could mention but will also save it for another time. Now I know exactly which school it is and where it is. If one goes North on that same road you will experience one of the Missouri roller coaster roads. We loved it when we were kids and my kids loved it too. My husband asked me never to take him over that road again. Just a memory. Jerry, I'd still like a copy of the picture and will accept an attachment if it isn't huge; still on dial-up.
