I have several marriage records from Lawrence Co. MO that I am not sure who they are. Could someone help me with the parents of these Yoachums? 1. James Yoachum & Mary Smith, Sept. 28, 1887. Married at the Overton home, Mt. Vernon. Is this possibly James H. the son of Francis Marion Yoachum & Martha Francis Butler? 2. This one was returned, not used. but I'm curious just the same. Lewis Yoachum and Viola Frazier, applied Dec. 23 , 1892. 3. Joseph Poland & Malinda Yoakum, Nov. 14, 1870. Do not know who she belongs to. My only Malinda is Malinda Jane, daughter of William, who married Phillip Horn in Stone Co. MO July 17, 1881. I have information and documentation on several of the families there, but just don't know who these particular Yoachums belong to. Thanks! Wilma

Wilma: I have also done some looking to try to find information on the Malinda Yoakum, b. about 1837, who married Joseph Poland. I'm wondering if Yoakum might not have been Malinda's original name but possibly she had been married to a Yoakum first before she married Joseph. I'm also wondering if she was connected to the Elizabeth Yochum, b. about 1836, who was married to Joseph Poland's son, John Henry Poland. From what I have found, Elizabeth was probably the daughter of Levi and Mary Patterson Yochum of Stone Co., MO. It looks like this Mary was the sister of Still Patterson who is buried in the Round Grove Cemetery and Thomas Patterson, buried in the old Aurora Cemetery, who was the third husband of my g-g-aunt, Atlanta Hunt Henson Crouch Patterson.
