    3. I am not researching it but had to make a quick check due to it being a German name and was the family name of someone I went to school with whom I understand still lives in the area. First the Lawrence County ones seem to come from Christ Koenemann that came from Germany. Be it Hannover, Prussia or just plain Germany would make a difference. The name in Germany would probably be Könemann. Once in the US the spelling of the name took many twists and turns with things like the single n and the conversion of the ö to oe which is the proper way to spell it in English since we do not use the ö. Anyway it seems old Christ was around through several states and is fairly easy to track. There are not any Koenemanns in my family book so I will just wish you Happy Hunting.
