My ancestor William J. Rodgers/Rogers was born about 1854 in Polk County, Missouri to John C. Rodgers, Sr. and Mary Rentfrow. I have numerous receipts from where John C. Rodgers, Sr. paid taxes in Lawrence County from the mid-1870s through the mid-1880s. His son John C. Rodgers, Jr. married Mary Catherine Berry in Lawrence County in 1870. In the genealogical society news I found that William Rodgers gave the land for the Buck Prairie Cemetery. Can anyone help me determine that William Rodgers is my ancestor? I appreciate any information. Also, does anyone know on what taxes were paid.I am assuming land or personal property? Thank you, Carol Ansley
