My 3g-grandfather was Jesse H. Fullerton and he died at Pierce City in 1874. A cousin sent me an obit from the Carthage People's Press, Jan 15, 1874, which does not mention a cause of death and says that he died at home. Another cousin claims that he was murdered by a carpetbagger. If did die a violent death, what court records should I look for?
