Mo. is trying hard to help us find our ancestors the death index, land some not put into the big land site(Sorry forgot its name) and now were working on the Penitary records and there interesting,Do you know they weighted the wife before and after each visit and measured the mans foot! Read below for a bit of information Brian sends to the volunteers each month.. Linda Currently we are attempting to transcribe many of our penitentiary records. Great progress has been made on the indexes of pardons and penal records issued by governors, but we still need help transcribing our indexes of prisoners received into the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City. These volumes contain a wealth of data regarding physical characteristics, as well as the familial and sentence information of these inmates.
