Kathleen, Richard Cuningham [should be Cunningham] married Elizabeth Franklin on 18 Feb 1833 in Surry Co., North Carolina. Richard Cunningham is a head of household in the 1840 Surry Co. Census. In 1830, there is only one head of household surnamed Cunningham and that is Mary Cunningham. There are several heads of household surnamed Franklin in the 1830 Surry Co. Census. One of them is named Shadrack Franklin. In the 1880 Census, only three houses from the Bernard Cunningham family is Shadrack Cunningham, age 37, born N.C.; his wife, Martha, age 18, born Ark.; and his mother, Elizabeth Cunningham, age 74, born N. C. I suspect it is highly likely that Shadrack and Bernard are brothers, Elizabeth is their mother, Elizabeth "Betty" (Franklin) Cunningham, and Shadrack is named after his grandfather Shadrack Franklin. But this is speculation. He could be named after a great uncle or someone else. And Shadrack's mother could be another Elizabeth Franklin other than Richard's widow. But these are clues or suggestions to research further. Also found: World War I Draft Registration Card. Robert Berry Cunningham R. His father Robert B. Cunningham died 31 Jan 1919 in Greene Co. and his death certificate is online at the Missouri State Archives Death Records Index and Certificates website at: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ The death certificate says Robert was born Jan 31, 1883, in Lead Hill Arkansas father was B. C. Cunningham, born North Carolina mother was M. V. Filler, born East Virginia buried at Clear Creek Cemetery, Greene Co. informant Ed Cunningham, Elwood, Mo. Lead Hill, Ark., is on Bull Shoals Lake, a few miles south of the Missouri-Arkansas border in Boone Co., Ark. Keep in mind that the information on death certificates is not always completely accurate because of memory losses and grieving. There are two Lucy Cunningham's who died in the 1940s in Greene Co., but those certificates are not yet available on line. However you may order them as described on the webpage. I would check Clear Creek Cemetery first because Lucy is probably buried by Richard. Robert, Lucy, Maudie, and Marie are in Center Township in 1910 along with some of Robert's older brothers, William, Ed, and Barney, living nearby. Robert's brothers William and John Ed (also siblings Elizabeth, Richard, and Lucy J.) are with his parents, Bernard and Martha, in Sugar Loaf Township, Boone Co., Arkansas in the 1880 census. I believe that Robert's father's death certificate is also online: Barney Columbus Cunningham died 25 Oct 1911, Center Twp., Greene Co., Mo. born 14 Apr 1845, North Carolina Minister of Gospel father Richard Cunningham, born North Carolina mother, Betty Franklin, born North Carolina informant, Homer Cunningham, Elwood, Mo. bur.
