Dear list, I'm on a part of a hunt that about has me down. Here is what I know, he was married in 1849 was in the 1850 census in Polk co. Missouri under Mr and Mrs, no children, and with correct name. Found him married again under different name in Harrison Co. Texas in 1866. Found him in 1870 census for Fannin Co. Texas using A D. for Andrew David. The marriage in Harrison, as you can see is his 2nd. and which out coffman family springs from. The missing 16 years are my concern to see if there is more family. With in the last 2-weeks I got a lead from his mother's estate statement that this anc. was in Lawernce Co. Missouri 2/12/1859. I checked ever entry (took hours) in the 1860 census, on places and dates that were used in case he was using a different name's. I found 4 that could of been close in Dates and places, but very far-a-field, in a like a made up name. The only thing I know to do now is drive over there and turn over all bricks, from 1850-1859. List if you were me, what all types of records could you expect to find on everything in between census in a small co. in Missouri, listing people and names on every thing, Court house and Beyond??? Sure wish it was a straight-forward search and he wasn't running for his life, from a private war in Polk Co. I don't want to miss a bet and I'm asking about things like reg. to vote, property taxes, and etc. I wish you to know I am serious and will try out all your ideas, and I also wish To thank you for your ideas.
