Carl, I think the courthouse is open 9 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. There are some indexes and transcriptions to courthouse records with a lot of other genealogical data at the McCanse Library. It has a large collection of published and unpublished materials -- books, file folders, card indexes, and microfilm. It is just a couple of blocks west of the courthouse on Water Street off the northwest corner of the courthouse square. I think it opens at 8:30 and, of course, is also open on the weekend.
