    3. You might try cemetery records and look under your parents' surname for a stillborn baby. There's a collection of cemetery transcriptions for Lawrence County available via the Family History Center. http://www.familysearch.org - Heather On Sun, 27 Jul 2003, Dan Buehler wrote: > I was at a reunion in Monett last week and found out from one of my older cousins that my parent's first child either died at birth or was a late term miscarriage. Her children were Bert, Lewis, Eligh G., Juanita Hull & Mary Lucinda Ratliff. Yes, they were mostly in Monett and are buried at Jolly Bethel cemetery. I have picture of my grandmother Davis. 2. Thursday, April 25, 2002 10:24 AM Hi Judy, I'm Lorrie Shorney, Medical Records Secretary. We have records from 1907 to present on patients. Some patients from the early years I would only have the admission and discharge dates and admitting diagnoses. From the 30's and 40's on I would have on microfilm. To get the records we need a release of information signed by the person if still living, If deceased the executor of the will or next of kin. I can send a release to anyone who requests one. If you have any other questions you can E-mail me at "[email protected]" or call me at 417-461-5345. Lorrie shorney

    3. Saralie, I have put a request for copy of Mo. laws prior to 1921 concerning common law marriages. I had found them once, but have had trouble finding the correct link again. I did find the following, but not exactly what you are wanting. Will let you know when I get the info. Wilma State Historical Society of Missouri Marriage and Divorce Records in Missouri http://www.system.missouri.edu/shs/marriage.html Marriage records are not necessarily recorded in the county where they are performed. Prior to June 26, 1881, no marriage license was required; the marriage was recorded at any convenient courthouse. Since 1881 licenses have been required. A portion of the license is returned to the Recorder where the license was obtained and the marriage is recorded in that county only. A marriage license is valid anywhere inside the boundaries of the state. Common law marriages have been prohibited in Missouri since June 20, 1921; persons involved in such relationships have no legal interest in common property unless both names are on deeds, etc.
