Phillipsburg News: Eli Shank's small children were very ill but were better at the writing. Eli Shank and wife, Inez McMenus Shank, could not attend her mother's funeral on account of sickness. The Funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Frances McMenus was well attended Sunday at two o'clock and a large crowd followed to the Union Cemetery where the remains were laid to rest between her husband and her three children. Obit of Rebecca Frances Smith McMenus and poem about her written by brother in law, Eli McMenus. More l908 news: Mr. Willie and Parry Drake of Springfield were guests of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Eli McMenus last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Tom Biggs died, buried at Lonesome Hill.
