Hello, I just wanted to share this with the list. I have looked almost a life time for this cemetery. I have lived here moved away and back during this time. My dad showed me the cemetery about 20 years ago but we did not find these graves. This time could not find the two Parish graves that my father and I found some time back. The trees are large and the briers are many. There are definite signs of at least 22 graves. My father felt there were at least 50. The sight may be 200 years old. Some of the trees that have blown down in storms or cut were 35-40 inches across. Sadly grave robbers had dug into my great grand parents graves leaving their shovel near by. Even this will not over shadow the joy of being able to find and document another Murrell! The dates of their birth match the information found in the old Murrell bible. Harvey Murrell parent's were William A Murrell and Lucinda Foy. I do not know who William's parents were; he was born December 24, 1820. Lucinda was the daughter of Simon Foy and Charlotte Sims. (Charlotte was the daughter of Bartlett Sims and Elizabeth Parish). Josie was the daughter of George Taylor and Jane Grissom. Josie was the granddaughter of Asa Taylor. The Taylor, Murrell, Sims, and Foys were in Limestone Co AL early 1800's. Sims Mary Sims, Charlotte Sims' sister married Benjamin Murrell I have been trying see what relationship William A Murrell might have had with the Murrells that were in Limestone Co AL. If any one has any connection to any of these families that could assist in that I would appreciate hearing from you. Still looking for the Missouri-Murrell family William belonged to... can any one help? Keep on looking....things do happen.
