    3. Sorry to take so long.... OBITS- 1900-1920 Funeral Services held for Judge Hamilton (1929) Funeral services were held Sat. Morning, July 27 at the family home near Drynob for JUDGE H. G. HAMILTON, pioneer Laclede county farmer, who died suddenly July 24. The service was conducted by the Rev Robert Reid and a choir sang "Never Grow Old" and "The Golden By and By:. The pallbearers were his four sons, W. E., Claude, Clyde and Archie Hamilton, and two sons-in-law, Leonard McElroy and Wyatt Core. Burial was in the Walker Graveyard, where services were conducted by the Competition Masonic lodge. Judge Hamilton, who was in his 69th year, was in his usual good health when he arose on the morning of his death. He had been busy about the farm during the early hours and had gone to the well, presumably to get a drink, when he was stricken. Mrs. Hamilton heard him call and ran to his side but he was dead when she reached him. Judge Hamilton was born Jan 18, 1861, in Maries County. His parents moved in 1867 to Wright County, where he grew to manhood. He was married Dec 22, 1883, to ADDIE E. EMMERSON and to this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. The survivors are W. E. Hamilton of Falcon, Mrs. Bertha Soward of Pasadena, CA., Mrs.Myrtle Golden of Marshfield, and Vest Hamilton of Tekamah, Neb. Mrs. Hamilton died May 13, 1895. On January 28, 1896, he was married to Mrs. Jane Garrett and to this union were born six children, four of whom survive. They are Claude and Clyde Hamilton of Drynob, Archie Hamilton of Falcon and Mrs. Gladys McElroy of Oakland. Two step-daughters, Mrs. Martha Breakfield and Mrs. Laura Core, also survive. He also is survived by his wife, 37 grandchildren and three great-grands. Mr. Hamilton was elected associate judge of the county court from the eastern district in 1906 serving two years. In 1908 he made another campaign, but was defeated by only two votes, and then was elected again in 1910. He was converted and joined the Free Will Baptist church at Walker in 1901 and had served as a deacon since that time. Hope it helps! NANCY .... ^--^ ..... My GGrandfather E W HAMILTON lived in Laclede Co from about 1890-1906 or so. I found items written in a newspaper where they moved the he was a Judge in Meade, Colorado. I wonder if this other Judge HAMILTON in Laclede Co, MO could be a relative? Perhaps some of the info you have might help determine that. I am excited and hopeful! Kathleen Sonoma, CA
