Judy, The county clerk's office is a real treasure of information. We found copies of marriage records for my ggg-parents while we were there and for a small fee obtained certified copies. The old jail currently houses the Historical Society. They have many books. The library has a room upstairs called the Laclede county room which is full of all kinds of information. The Genealogical Society is also in town. Hotels - there are several new hotels at the south end of town, just off I-44, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, and a couple more I can't quite remember. I used to live there and go back each year for family reunions.
