Photo in the Leb. Daily Record: Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, built in l907. Photo ran in the 1/19 edition. As an encouragement...again...for all of you to go to the surname lists at the Historical Society , Rootsweb and other sources...I just had a cousin drop in from Internet space...she is a descendant of a line of my family that I have been looking for for years! Another recent contact (someone new to a surname list) has given us information confirming the birth of my McMenus great great grandfather, his siblings, and also his parents names and marriage date and location. We had been at a deadend for many years. The information did not come from public records but rather from a family bible. My 3rd great grandfather McMenus died of measles during the War of 1812 after enlisting in the TN militia, his wife remarried an Isaac Taylor, but she managed to write her previous marriage date and birth and names of her children in the Taylor Family bible--also confirmed that the family name was McManus. Another resource in this connection has confirmed the McManus' came from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland! I've had a really good January thus far! We've made so much contact through the surname lists, we've gone back a full generation on four seprate lines and met all sorts of cousins! Turns out a lot of the McMannis people in MO are directly related also! My point in all this is not to bore you with my family tree but to let you know that there apparently is never a deadend! The internet is opening up contact with peole we might not otherwise ever come across. Keep searching!
