Hi Carol... So glad when items find the right place. As to the Nurse name...are only two in the book I have of obits, covering 1900-1929: July 11, 1902 CHARLES NURSE age 65 years whose home was 7 miles east of Lebanon died on Wednesday Morning July 9 of dropsy. The funeral was conducted at the family home and interment was in the city cemetery. Oct 1922: MRS CHARLES NURSE passed away Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Siverly at Morning Sun, Iowa. The body accompanied by Mrs. Siverly and a son, Joseph Nurse arrived here yesterday afternoon. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Madison Avenue M. E. Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. D. E. Fields. Burial will be in the City Cemetery by the side of the husband, who died about twenty years ago. Mrs. Nurse was born at Shepton, Somersteshire, England, December 22, 1841. She was married there March 18, 1865 to Charles Nurse. They came to America soon afterward and located in Pennsylvania. Several years later they came to Laclede county and settled on a farm near Drynob. Mr. Nurse passed away twenty years ago. Mrs. Nurse continued to live on the farm for some time, but of late has spent her time in the homes of her children. She is remembered by the people of her old neighborhood as a devoted Christian and a kindly, compassionate mother, neighbor and friend. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Andrew Shadel, and son, Joseph Nurse of Drynob; a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Fry of West Plains, and a daughter Mrs. William Siverly of Morning Sun, Iowa, and an adopted son, Fred Nurse of Mountain Lake, Minn. Fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. A brother, Fred Whitmarsh, of Brazil Indiana, also survives. The church socities and society club of West Plains of which Mrs. Fry is a member, sent beautiful flowers..... ^--^ ..... As always, hoping it might help! I was reviewing the 1830 and 1840 Census records for George James b. 1799 m. to Dicey Horne and found that I do not have all of his sons. If anyone has who the other sons were I would sure like to know. 1830 Census TN 2 boys between 5 to 10 1840 Census MO 2 boys under 5 2 boys under 15 to 20 These are the Children I have: a.. George Riley (1833-1906) note that George's birth date does not match the census record. b.. William R. (~1823-) c.. Lucinda d.. Elizabeth e.. Mary Ann Plus I was reviewing George Riley James' 1880 census records and it states that his father, George James, was born in TN. I had always thought previously that he was born in Georgia. Does anyone know? Thanks! Charlene Chambers King

That home was subsequently owned by Vernon and Florene (Jones) Snow. That place is between John & Susan's former home at Organna and the McBride Cemetery where they are buried. My sister and I now own that home where John and Susan lived. It was bought from their heirs by my grandfather, Joseph Edward Brown. I have the deeds for that purchase. I also have a picture of the home of John and Susan at Organna taken approximately 1912. If anyone is interested, I will attach it to an e-mail to them. I don't believe we can attach to a message to rootsweb. Please be quick with a request as I am going to Laclede Co., MO this weekend and will be staying at what we call The Cap Lindsay place. Let's all think about our ancestors this Memorial weekend. I will be at McBride Cemetery thinking about mine. Frank Brown Kansas City
Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be on vacation for the next couple of weeks, so I won't be posting anything from the Conway Chronicles until I get back. I thought I would have more posted by now, but I got a new computer, and getting everything set up took a bit of time also. Martha
Please cahnge my address to Srowdy@ev1.net Thank you Sherri
My eternal brickwalls are: John W Lindsay born 1/24/1825 on the French Broad River, Sevier Co, TN, (Parents listed as James Lindsay and an unknown Pate on his death certificate) married Susan C. Shelton 9/1/1846 in Talladega Co, AL. John died 10/31/1914 in Orla, Laclede Co, MO. Susan was born 8/25/1830 (of unknown parents) in either TN or AL and died 6/7/1908 in Orla, Laclede Co, MO. John and Susan were in Coosa Co, AL in 1850 but did not get enumerated. In the 1850 census there is a James Lindsey and wife Nancy that I believe to be the parents of John W. There is also a Hue H. Lindsey in the 1850 census that I believe to be the brother of John. John and Susan named their second son Hugh, who was born in Coosa Co in 1848. A James Lindsey patented land in Coosa Co, AL on 4/15/1837 (W1/2SE, Sec 6, 23N, 19E & SENE, Sec 7, 23N, 19E) and on 11/2/1837 (E1/2SW, Sec 6, 23N,19E) and again on 10/6/1842(S1/2,Sec 31, 24N, 19E). A John Lindsey was very nearby as he purchased on 3/1/1858 (SWSE, Sec 2, 24N, 18E & NWNE, Sec 11, 24N, 18E) and again on 2/1/1860 (SESW, Sec 2, 24N, 18E). Hugh H. Lindsey was also close to James and John as he purchased his land 5/1/1852 (NENW & SWNW, Sec 27, 23N, 17E & SENW, Sec 22, 23N, 17E). There was also a James Shelton right next door to the John Lindsey's land. He purchased the E1/2SE, Sec 2, 24N, 18E. Perhaps James is Susan Shelton's father? There is a Fox Shelton mentioned in this same area on Shelton's Creek, who ran the Shelton Inn. Are James and Fox the same individual? I believe James Lindsey, father of John Lindsay, to be a descendant of David Lindsey and Mary Casey, through their son Thomas. I don't have any proof though. I understand there is a David Lindsey family genealogy collection in the B.B. Comer Library in Sylacauga, AL. Is anyone familiar with this collection? I would appreciate any input!!!! Diana

Can anyone tell me anything about the Nurse Freewill Baptist Church in Dry Nob? Thank you. Carol Jo Bishop
I am researching John Honsinger who married Matilda Gillespy in 1827. The 800 Missouri book, volume two, refects John's heirs as his wife Matilda and eight children: Mary Jane Honsinger, Margaret, Matilda Elvira, William Gillespy Honsinger, Matilda? Angeline, Rebecca Ann Honsinger, John Franklin Honsinger, and James Oliver Honsinger all of Pulaski Co. I show their children as: a.. Thomas F. (1823-1907) b.. Matilda Elvira (~1834-) c.. Mary Jane (1829-1857) d.. Nancy (not listed as an heir?) e.. Rebecca Ann (~1840-) f.. John Franklin (1840-1911) g.. James Oliver (~1843-) h.. William Gillespy (~1836-) I'm confussed about two children named Matilda listed as heirs and Margaret. One of their children, Nancy is not shown as a heir. Does anyone have any info on this?
George James married Dicy Horne. George was born in 1799 and died in 1847. According to the '800 Missouri Families' volume one book his heirs were: William R., Elizabeth E., Mary Ann, George R., and Lucinda James all of Pulaski Co. I know that William R. and George R. were their sons. But does anyone know who the other heirs were?

My Climer posting today was returned to me from pjmm@tcac.net with a virus attached. This is not intentional on the part of the list subscriber, but you should all be aware of anything coming from the list or list subscribers that has an attachment and the "take a look at the attachment" at the end of the email message.
Someone on the list was researching Climer family near Morgan; I think it was her mother's family; I think it might have been Betsy Scoby, but am not sure, so if I am wrong, please forgive me! I have trouble remembering everybody's lines! Anyway, I have a death notice for Mrs. JL Climer of Morgan from a l947 edition of the Conway Chronicle and would like to pass it on to the person who was looking for the Climer information in that area. Please contact me. Thanks!
I received two automatic virus infectec/infested responses to my two postings today from: pjmm@teac.net PLEASE beware of opening any files from this email address...and the person whose address this is should immediately get their system updated for viruses and clean out the culprits. Martha
